HISTORY:

The seed of Telugu Department of Government College for Men was sworn in the year 1971. It is one of the oldest departments in college. Telugu is taught as a subsidiary subject for various disciplines (B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com). Faculty members of the department contributed the vibrant culture of the college by organizing Telugu Day celebrations, Essay writing competitions, Quiz competitions, (Online & Offline Both mode)Speech competitions and Student Seminars. And also organizing International Seminars, Webinars, National Seminars,Guest Lectures etc. Apart from these, teachers have worked with dedication towards creating an environment that fosters the teaching and learning of the Telugu language. department aim to elevate Telugu studies to a center of excellence by boosting pass rates in undergraduate courses like B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com, while fostering research skills, scientific attitudes, and social responsibility among students .

Mission:

? Toemphasize linguistic and realistic human moral values in the fields of literature, fine arts, civilization and education for benefit of the Society . Missions center on student-responsive education, including syllabus design to nurture poets and writers, enhancing speaking and writing skills, and creating media job opportunities. They also stress value-based programs to build literary appreciation, communication skills via language labs, and relevance to rural students through culturally attuned teaching.
